Physical properties:
Yellow-brown or red-brown powder, having slightly smell. It can dissolve in water and grain alcohol ,not in diethylethe or chloroform. It is a stable complex with no irritation which can sterilize bacterial, virus, fungus effectively. It is the first-selected iodine containing microbicide.
PVP-I is the complex compound of PVP and Iodine. It has powerful bactericidal action to germ, virus, fungus, and mold. Its microbicidal potential and microbicidal spectrum is equally the same as those of Iodine. PVPI retains the most valuable advantages of high efficient partial disinfectant Iodine over the past century, and it also overcomes the disadvantages of iodine, such as low solubility, instability, easy hypersensitive reaction, thrill for skin and mucosa. Therefore, PVPI has become the first choice of Iodine disinfectants in the world¡¯s developed countries for nearly 30 years, and it has replaced Iodine tincture and other chlorine, mercury disinfectants.
